Breaking Barriers: Leading Women-Led Startups Shine at She Loves Tech 2024 Philippines Pitch QOMPETITION




The She Loves Tech 2024 Philippines Pitch QOMPETITION concluded successfully today at SM Aura Samsung Hall in Taguig, showcasing the brilliance and innovation of the top women-led startups in the country. The event brought together some of the brightest minds in the tech startup space, providing a platform for these visionary entrepreneurs to present their groundbreaking ideas.


The event, a melting pot of innovation, empowerment, and groundbreaking ideas, opened with a warm welcome from Rene “Butch” Meily, President of Ideaspace | QBO Innovation, which set the tone for an inspiring afternoon, followed by an impactful keynote speech from Leanne Robers, Co-Founder of She Loves Tech, who shared the global vision and mission behind the She Loves Tech initiative.


She Loves Tech is a global platform dedicated to closing the funding gap for women—empowering female-led and women-impact startups worldwide. For its 10th year, She Loves Tech is ramping up its support with amplified perks, including cash prizes up to $20K, priority Investments worth USD$150K, extensive media exposure and networking opportunities, and access to investors and corporate partners, among others. 


Adding to the excitement, Grace Magno, Vice President for Corporate Marketing at SM Supermalls, delivered an insightful address on the pivotal role of technology and innovation in women's empowerment. Carol Cruz, Managing Partner at EquiTrust Holdings Inc., rounded out the keynote speeches, highlighting the importance of investing in farm management, renewable energy, fintech, and circular economy startups.


The Pitch QOMPETITION featured ten outstanding startups, each demonstrating unique solutions to contemporary challenges—competing for a chance to represent the Philippines in the She Loves Tech Southeast Asia Semi-Finals in Singapore. The lineup of pitching startup included:


1. Alerto PH - A platform that connects people, technology, and insights to enhance safety during emergencies and disasters

2. Bonanza Benefits - A B2B SaaS employee benefits platform integrating insurance, wellness, and fitness for today's modern workforce.

3. Collo - An AI-powered property management platform that helps property owners streamline rental operations.

4. Farmtri - A B2B AI-driven platform to minimize food waste in the agriculture sector so businesses can focus on sales and growth.  

5. Kazam - An online service that connects homeowners with domestic helpers or “kasambahays” for childcare, cooking, cleaning, and more.

6. MedsGo - An omnichannel pharmacy integrating offline pharmacies, online aggregators, and healthcare services.

7. Remotify - An Employer-of-Record solution that simplifies and secures remote outsourcing with compliance and HR support for small to medium businesses.

8. Rezbin - A startup building the largest network of drop-off points for recyclable waste in developing countries, leveraging on technology and monetizing existing trash bins.

9. TERPCAP - A disability-led provider offering sign language interpretation, accessibility consulting, and training for inclusive communication and workplaces.

10. Unprude - The first sex therapy app in Asia that encourages self-reflection on sexual and life challenges, fostering better self-understanding and relationships.



The esteemed judging panel who evaluated the startups' pitches and shared valuable insights included Priya Thachadi of Villgro Philippines, Karla Legaspi of Ideaspace | QBO, Raya Buensuceso of Kaya Founders, Carol Cruz of EquiTrust Holdings Inc., and Grace Magno of SM Supermalls.



Unprude emerged as the grand winner of the She Loves Tech 2024 Philippines Pitch QOMPETITION, while Farmtri clinched second place—both winners will represent the Philippines in the Southeast Asia Regional Semi-finals in Singapore on August 21, 2024. 


This showcase event was not just a competition; it was a celebration of innovation, resilience, and the unstoppable drive of women entrepreneurs shaping the future. The program’s community partners, including Accelerating Asia, Nushu Network, Imaginable Impact, Startup Pinay, and Villgro Philippines, played a key role in supporting this culminating event.
